Vacancy – 3 x Welfare Assistants
(to complement our existing team)

Thank you for showing an interest in our current vacancy.  Waterloo is a thriving three-form entry primary
academy in the South Shore area of Blackpool, an area of significant disadvantage.  We educate 680 children
in our Victorian school buildings yet are fortunate to deliver a 21st Century education through our exciting,
inspirational, global curriculum which focuses on four world issues; Culture, Conflict, Conservation and
Communication.

The successful candidates:

  • Will be required to work as part of a team supporting and assisting pupils’ accessing the dining and recreational facilities.
  • Provide first aid where required, including administering medicines and provide medical support to pupils. A current First Aid certificate would be an advantage however, training will be provided.
  • Keep dining areas clean and clear of hazards
  • Assist with other activities including, setting out and storing equipment.
  • Manage pupil behaviour during recreational and dining activities, reporting any issues and incidents in line with school policies.

Grade:                          Grade B SCP 2-4 (£17,711 – £18,426 pro rata)
Hours:                          10 hours per week, term time only
Contract:                    12 Months Fixed Term

Vacancy – SEMH Mentor

We currently have a vacancy for a SEMH Mentor to complement our existing team.

The successful candidate will be required to work with a professional pastoral team and a range of other agencies to overcome barriers to learning for children who present with challenging behaviour and SEMH concerns.

The successful candidate will:

  • hold a current level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • have experience working with children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties
  • be fully committed to inclusion and continually striving for the highest standards

Vacancy:                      SEMH Mentor
Grade:                          Grade F SCP 19-24 (£24,799-£27,905 pro rata)
Hours:                          35 hours per week
Contract:                    12 months fixed-term (term time only plus insets)

Vacancy – Speech and Language support

We currently have a vacancy for Speech and Language support to complement our existing team.

The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a professional team supporting and assisting children’s development and learning, with varying degrees of speech, language and communication difficulties.

  • the successful candidate must possess experience, interest and where possible a qualification in the relevant discipline and be prepared to undertake training as and when identified
  • be fully committed to inclusion and continually striving for the highest standards
  • work closely with children to support and assist development
  • communicate with children to determine their needs and ensure they are equally met
  • work with the speech and language team to ensure activities are relevant to the curriculum
